When did we forget what life is really about? Was it when we spent all that extra time at work that now doesn’t seem to be worth it? Or the time we spend with people who just seem to complain about anything and everything? Somehow, some way, we lost touch with what is really important.

In David Maldonado’s CDs, “The ALMA trilogy (Soul trilogy)”, we rediscover what is truly important to us and what we can do to focus on it. For example in the featured song, Winds Of Spain, we remember that we had great aspirations to leave our mark on this world. A desire to influence those around us to become the best they can be, the importance of teaching others who we are through family traditions and culture.
David reminds us in the song Felicidades 2.0, that everywhere around us there are people who have less than us. Not by their own doing but the circumstances that influence their lives. This is your opportunity to brighten their lives and help them make a change for the better. The time you spend with them could be measured in minutes and hours but the impact will last a lifetime.

Life is a journey. It can be confusing, inspiring, depressing and passionate all in a short period of time. The value of David Maldonado’s music is that it will serve as the inspiration to get you refocused as to where you have to go and what you get to accomplish...

Que siga la tradición...
Raised in a family where playing music was as natural as breathing, David Maldonado’s early influences encompassed a broad range of music, most notably Classical and Flamenco. By the age of eight, David was already an accomplished violinist, immersed in the Classic world of Bach and Mozart. When he was ten, David’s father gave him his first and only guitar lesson. That lesson awoke in him a passion that has never wavered. By the age of fourteen, David was performing classical guitar concerts at the University of Arizona. Two years later, he began to study under the world-renowned classical guitarists, Celin and Pepe Romero, and their father, the late Celedonio Romero, from whom David learned his incredible rasqueado technique.

The sounds of his childhood, Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi, complemented by Spanish masters such as Sabicas and the Romeros, inspired David to explore and perfect a broad range of musical techniques and styles. His music reflects the beauty and structure inherent in classical composition, at the same time bringing forth the passion, upbeat rhythms and fascinating gypsy scales redolent of Flamenco. The combination of these, along with David's incredible energy and stage presence, invokes a passionate response from audiences of all ages, taking them along on an exotic musical journey. Maldonado's CD trilogy collection, "El Amor de mi Alma", “Viaje de mi Alma”, and “Almas and Angels”, offer an enticing journey into this unique infusion of Flamenco, Jazz, and Classical styling.
Too often we fall into the pattern of routine because we become “comfortable” with all we have in life. The material things we have keep us from becoming too upset or even motivated to change the world around us.
